Information for teachers
You are a teacher and want to initiate a new cooperation between the ALP and your school? Here you can find answers to the most commonly asked questions!
How do I find the right contact person?
Your contact person is the project leader at the location closest to you. You can find all contact information for our various locations here. If you have more general questions regarding the project you can get in touch with the Central Coordination Office in Koblenz.
How do I apply for a cooperation?
There is no standardized application process. We are open for your ideas and would like to sit down with you to discuss them.
What are the costs of a cooperation with the Ada-Lovelace-Projekt?
All events that we offer are free for the participants. The ALP is financed through the Ministerium für Familie, Frauen, Jugend, Integration und Verbraucherschutz and the Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Weiterbildung und Kultur as well as the European Social Fund.
What is the duration of a cooperation?
The duration is individually agreed upon between the project lead and the school.
Generally, our cooperations with schools are in the form of after school activities that are designed for either an entire or half a school year. But we are also interested in shorter or one time cooperation, e.g. trial days in companies, job fairs, project days or other special events.
Who is leading these events?
The workshops and after school activities are planned and supervised by our mentors. Mentors are very engaged female students or trainees who are in the STEM fields themselves and have been coached for their work in the project. They give the younger students an understanding of various STEM-related topics and offer guidance in their educational and professional orientation phase. It’s our goal to show the girls new perspectives and widen their spectrum of possible career choices, especially with regard to the STEM fields.
Is there a fixed selection of activities or can I suggest topics?
There is a range of possible workshops that mentors have been trained for. Additionally, we welcome suggestions for new workshops. If the suggested topics are compatible with the mentors’ competencies we can develop new workshops.
How many activities can I offer at my school?
One workshop with any number of dates may be offered per school.
Are there any limitations for participating, e.g. a minimum age?
Workshops are designed for students from the 5th grade up. Which grades are supposed to participate can be agreed upon individually.
How do I benefit from a cooperation with the Ada-Lovelace-Projekt?
You contribute to the equal support of your female students in the field of science and technology in an early phase of their school career.
